Dental Treatment Comparisons

Honest side-by-side comparisons to help you decide the right dental treatment, destination, and approach.

Compare honestly before you decide

Dental tourism marketing is full of one-sided pitches. These comparison guides aren't. Each is written by a clinical coordinator with direct casework experience — comparing Turkey to UK, Hungary, Mexico and Bulgaria on cost, materials, follow-up, and complication risk; comparing All-on-4 to traditional implants; comparing E.max veneers to zirconia crowns. We list what each treatment really costs in 2026, what the failure rates are, who is a good candidate and who is not, and where the marketing fluff diverges from clinical reality. If you are weighing two treatments or two destinations, start here. You will leave with a clear answer based on data, not on whoever ranked first in your search.

Frequently asked questions

Is dental treatment in Turkey really 70% cheaper than the UK?+

Yes, for complex restorative work. An All-on-4 single arch in the UK costs £18,000–£25,000 from a competent implantologist. In Antalya the same procedure with the same premium brands (Straumann, Nobel Biocare, Ivoclar IPS e.max) costs €4,500–€7,500. The cost difference is real and is driven by lower labor, lower facility overheads, and lower marketing costs — not lower material quality. We use identical implants and porcelains as Harley Street.

Should I choose Turkey over Hungary or Mexico for dental work?+

Depends on where you live and what you need. Hungary is good for EU patients needing single-tooth implants or short-stay work — lower flight cost from western Europe, similar prices to Turkey. Mexico is good for US patients geographically but the clinic accreditation landscape is more variable. Turkey wins for full-mouth restoration, multi-procedure visits, and patients who want a complete medical tourism package (hotel + transfer + aftercare). Read the dedicated Turkey vs Hungary and Turkey vs Mexico comparison guides below.

All-on-4 vs single implants — which is right for full-arch tooth loss?+

All-on-4 is faster (single surgery, immediate temporary teeth), uses fewer implants (4 vs 6-8), and is significantly cheaper. Single implants are better when you have only 2-3 teeth missing in a row. For complete arch tooth loss with limited bone, All-on-4 with angled posterior implants avoids the need for sinus lift surgery. See the All-on-4 vs Traditional Implants guide for the full clinical breakdown.

E.max veneers vs zirconia crowns — what should I get?+

E.max (lithium disilicate) is the gold standard for veneers on healthy teeth: 0.3-0.5mm thickness, life-like translucency, requires minimal tooth reduction. Zirconia is required when a tooth has had root canal treatment, when a crown (not veneer) is needed, or when the patient is a heavy grinder. Many full-mouth restorations combine both — E.max on healthy front teeth, zirconia on prepared molars. Read the E.max vs Zirconia comparison for material specs and failure rates.

How honest are the comparison guides? Are they biased toward Turkey?+

Each guide has a "Why you might NOT choose Turkey" section. We explicitly call out cases where Turkey is not the right answer — single-implant patients in Western Europe (Hungary may be cheaper end-to-end with travel), patients with active periodontal disease (treat in your home country first), patients who cannot commit to two visits (some treatments need 5-7 days, others need 2 visits 3 months apart). If a comparison reads like marketing, it is not ours.

Can I trust the cost numbers in these comparisons for 2026?+

Yes. We update each guide quarterly based on actual treatment plans we send out via WhatsApp. Where pricing varies (e.g., E.max veneers can be €280–€450 depending on case complexity), we list the range and explain what shifts you to the upper end. Currency volatility is factored in. If you see an outdated number, message us and we update within 48 hours.
