Why London is the easiest UK city to do this from

More British dental patients travel to Antalya from London than from anywhere else, and it is mostly a matter of routes. Antalya is served from four London airports — Gatwick, Heathrow, Stansted and Luton — by a mix of full-service and low-cost carriers, and a direct sector is around four hours each way. That combination is what makes something no other UK city can do quite as easily: leave in the morning, spend a working day in Antalya, and sleep at home.

It is also why the free comparison trip flies from London specifically. Three clinic appointments have to be scheduled around each other on the same day; that only works if the inbound lands early enough and the outbound leaves late enough, and London is where those slots exist most reliably.

The airports, and the season that decides your flight

Do not assume every London airport flies to Antalya on the date you want. Capacity to AYT is heavily seasonal: it is at its widest across the summer, thins through the autumn and is at its narrowest in midwinter, when a connecting routing through Istanbul is common. A connection is not a problem in itself — Turkish Airlines and Pegasus both run frequent Istanbul to Antalya domestics — but it turns a four-hour trip into a seven-to-nine-hour day, and it makes a same-day return impractical.

Three things worth settling before you accept any date, whether you are booking your own flights or travelling on the comparison trip:

• Which London airport, and is it direct? On the comparison trip this is named on your written confirmation before you travel. Ask for it early if a same-day return matters to you.
• If it connects, is it on one ticket? A single booking protects you when the inbound runs late; two separate bookings do not.
• How far ahead is the schedule published? Seasonal carriers publish roughly six to nine months out, which matters if your treatment needs a second trip in a different season.

What one day in Antalya can realistically contain

A great deal, and less than the adverts imply.

It can contain three separate clinical examinations at three different clinics, scans where a clinic takes them, and three written, itemised treatment plans with prices — the same mouth, the same day, three named clinicians. That is genuinely useful, and it is what the free London to Antalya comparison trip is for.

It cannot contain treatment. Implant surgery, preparation for crowns or veneers, and extractions are not consultation-day work, and no clinic on that itinerary is permitted to start treatment on the day. It also should not contain a decision. You are being asked to look, not to sign.

The comparison that matters is with your own London quote

This page does not publish a saving percentage, and that is deliberate.

A comparison figure is only honest if it is like for like: the same number of units, the same implant and ceramic systems named by brand, the same laboratory work, the same guarantee period, the same number of visits, and both prices current rather than a Turkish price from this year against a London price from three years ago. Very few advertised numbers survive that test, and you have no way to audit ours any more than anyone else's.

What you can audit is your own paperwork. Before you travel, get your London private quote itemised — units, systems by brand name, what is excluded, what the guarantee is, how many visits — and treat it as the fourth column next to the three you collect. What treatment abroad costs a London patient beyond the quote

The treatment quote is not the trip cost, and the first trip is not the whole project.

Implant work is normally two visits with a healing gap of three to four months in between, so budget two return flights, two sets of nights in Antalya and two blocks of time off work. Crown and veneer cases are more often a single longer trip. Travel insurance that actually covers a medical-tourism trip costs more than a standard policy and still will not cover the dentistry itself. And time off work is, for most London patients, the largest hidden line in the whole exercise.

Stage the money. A reasonable structure is a modest deposit to hold the surgical dates, an instalment on arrival once the three-dimensional scan has confirmed the plan, and the balance at completion. Never pay in full before that scan, because the scan is exactly the point at which an honest plan can change. Where you can, pay the deposit by UK credit card rather than bank transfer — a card leaves you a chargeback route, and a transfer leaves you nothing.

Aftercare when you live in London

This is what decides, eighteen months later, whether treatment abroad was a good idea. Ask every clinic the same four questions and write the answers down.

1. Who do I contact from London, in what language, and how quickly do they reply?
2. What does the guarantee cover, for how long, and what voids it?
3. If work needs redoing, who pays for the treatment, and who pays for the flight?
4. What will you send me for my records — the itemised plan, the radiographs, the implant or ceramic system details and their reference numbers?

Then plan the London side properly. Register the work with your own dentist so it is on your record before you need it in a hurry, keep every document and every image in one place, and budget for hygiene appointments at the intervals your clinic specifies. A London dentist can see you for maintenance, reviews and emergencies — but none is obliged to correct another provider's work free of charge, and most will charge to assess it.

What this page will not tell you

Some of the most common lines in Turkey dental advertising are missing here on purpose, and it is worth knowing why.

• No saving percentage. See above: it cannot be made honest without a like-for-like basis.

• No clinic named before it is contracted. The three clinics on your comparison-trip date are named on your itinerary before you fly, not on a marketing page months earlier.
• No clinician credentials we cannot evidence. Names, where publication has been agreed; nothing beyond that.
• Outcomes are not guaranteed, and a free fly-back is not promised. Aftercare terms are supplied in writing by the treating provider, and they are the terms that count.
